Hi

I am about to purchase a 1997 deville with 115000 miles on it and am wondering if there is anthing I should be looking for problem wise?

The current owner is having new front wheel hubs install monday.I checked the temp during a test drive and it was 209 so That seems good the head gasket seems to be in order as well.Is there anything else I should check or have done after I receive it?

 

coolant !!!!!! ..........when and how often has the prev owner changed it? also ask for any service/maintenance records he may have.... it sure would be a great if he/she was the only owner! now, take the car out and wot it to about 140 mph. if it doesnt do that. DONT BUY!!! just kidding, of course......keke look at normal things on this, as you would any. do all electrics work? windows, locks, mirrors, seats, heater, cooler, hows trunk look under mats. how are wheels, tires? hows she go down the road? make sure to drive after his repair. good luck dude

He actually is the first owner he kept it up very well.I plan to change the fuild anyway.

 

thats great the car has had only one owner!! now ask him about coolant. ask him about water pump, thermostat, anything that would let you know coolant has been changed..... that would be something you need to know before you buy.

Well

After a good going over I bought it.He had the head gaskets and front suspension done 2 years ago.I have been going over it with a fine tooth comb today and here is what I had to fix.Both dog bones were worn so I replaced them and the center mount brake light doesnt work I put new bulbs in it but it still wont work.Any ideas?

OH it will be needing new hubs soon but I already have them ordered so I will have them on hand.
