I am actually looking to buy this vehicle but the owner says that one day smoke was coming out of the door panel so they took it to one of their friends to look at it he disconnected a wire and the smoke went away but the windows will not roll down and she said the trunk will only open electronically some of the time. Their friend who was working on the problem went to jail shortly after working on it so he never had a chance to finish it.

From what I can tell everything else works and the engine sounds/runs ok.

They tell me they have only had it about 9 months but they want to get rid of it because they have a baby on the way and need a 4x4 as it does get very snowy where we live.

The only thing I can think of is there is a short and a fuse was popping so the previous owner added a bigger fuse then the short got worse so and the fuse being bigger would not allow it to trip.

Any suggestions as to what the problem may be and how much it would take to fix it? They have 2500 or best offer on the car. I was going to try talking them down to 2000. I really like the car otherwise but need a solid form of transportation as my pickup needs work. Any thoughts?
