Default Anti-theft, Battery, Problems

Please help.

2004 CTS, 3.6, no modifications.

On three different occasions in the past three months, car will not start, nor will it allow you to remove the key. On two of these non-starting occasions, the display stated "Service Anti-theft." After 1) getting a jump, or 2) waiting and repeatedly cycling the key and 3) switching keys, the car will start. However, the drive home is an eventful one because the car wants to die, and there is a significant jerking motion when you let off the throttle - almost a "bang" as the car coasts.

The key in question is a copy - that may be our answer right there.

The curve ball in all of this is at jiffy lube yesterday, the tech told me my battery was low. On the display, it states my battery is fine. Taking the battery in for testing/replacement.

Has anyone had any of these same problems? If so, any solutions?

Thanks.

2004 SRX same thing it drives me NUTS! happened last night and I had to get jump cable start. My battery display also say's its fine. I have started to carry a portable boost start but for this type of car it sucks........... big time. I have not found a fix but will post if I get one. The problem is when it is at the dealers it starts just fine.

Ron........
