I would look again for a sticker under the hood regarding the proper charge amount. My 1990
Eldo barritz called for 2.75 lbs. As CARNUT said it might be too low on refridgerant.

The last year R12 was used was 1992. The last month of 1993 that any models left over that got it was february 1993.
R134a is 1993-current
