Thanks, Slowroll, for the advice. I will definitely check into your suggestions tomorrow and let everyone if it helped. When you don't know cars, you alway feel the "dealership" is trying to railroad you and take advantage of your check book..

Anyway, I just wanted to acknowledge your help. I'll post agin once thesee various remedies have been tries.

The unfortunate thing is you need a Caddy tech who worked on them before 1999. They are sometimes hard to find any where but the dealer. Cadillac dfi is a unique the Cadillac deal.

I decided to take your advice and today I had my car towed (thank you AAA-Plus) to a mechanic in town who is known for his expertise with Cadillacs. He worked for "the" Cadillac dealership in Charleston, SC for years and now owns his own shop. I feel it's in good hands. Will let you and the others know what he discovered and how much of the work I had done by those other knuckle heads was unnecessary.
