Default 1989 Deville

Car failed the nox .

Cat and O2 sensor changed... now check engine light flashes when
idling in park intermittently..

Does the computer need resetting with the new smog crap installed?

I would reset .. nothing to lose.

your car has an air pump?
if it does, test it, check the hoses, make sure the new CAT has the air inlet hooked up and working.

also, check the codes - the flashing light

On a 1989 Cadillac ses light should not flash, if it comes on there should be a code stored. However, if some one put at jumper in the ALDL located under center of dash it will flash , I would check for it. Make sure EGR works because thats what it there for, to reduce NOx Hope it helps

computer does not need reset. Steel tubes under throttle body tend to carbon up, can be cleared with 3/8" drill bit. Does engine have spark knock with timing set correctly on 91+ octane?
