Default 1998 saville STS tune up questions

This my first post as a Cadillac owner. I just bought a 98 Saville STS with 115K miles on it. The car is absolutely beautiful peral white with tan interior. As I said this is my first Caddy so I have a few questions, First off can anyone make recommendations about the best sparks wires, air filter etc that I should use.The plugs, wires, air filter all look to be original equipment and never replaced. I checked the gap on a few plugs and found it to be .070 inches (seems a little wide to me). Next Q isdo you guys recommend an standard K&N filter replacement for the stock filter or should I go with a cold air intake (provided that K&N makes one to fit these cars. Also, would like to know where the trouble spots are on these cars (if any). The last Q I have is what years engines are interchangable for this year (reason is that the local salvage yard is having a 1/2 price sale this weekend and I was hopingto pick up a useable/fixable motor cheaply that I could rebuild over the winter and have as a spare.

Thanks in advance for the info/Phil

Default RE: 1998 saville STS tune up questions

Tune up stuff AC Delco does just fine. Air filter - oiled filter not recommended due to over oiled filters tend kill MAF sensor. No practical experience with cold air intake pro or con. Y2K and later northstar is different than earliers ones. Swapping between 1st and 2nd gen engines is not recommended due engine control issues, it can be done but it wont be easy. You want 99 - 96 sts/etc/concours engine for spare. Of course 98 would be best.
