My ASC ceiling light is still on - but I have no idea what it's telling me. I can't find anything in the manual. If I take it in to Cadillac repair, I'm hooked for the diagnostic costs, even if it's something that can be 'fixed' with little or no effort. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

 

Need year and model. ASC normally relates to aftermarket mods like sunroof is this the case?

 

I have a 2002 El Dorado with a sunroof.

 

Not sure what light is on, Cadillac dealer may or may not be able to help. Find ASC dealer or shop the specializes mods including electric sunroof installation.

 

The ASC light is on. There are 4 lights in the ceiling - OPEN, CLOSE, VENT, and ASC. It's the ASC light that's red. I don't know what ASC stands for. What the hell is it?

 

What I am saying is I dont believe your car came with sunroof from the factory. It was added, ASC made sunroof assembly, and only a ASC dealer or tech who deals with ASC products can tell you what you want to know. If your car came with owners manual...etc. there maybe ASC sunroof guide/booklet with it.

 

I have an'02 SLS with the same light panel for the sunroof. The ACS stands for AMERICAN SUNROOF CORPORATION, the manufacturer of your aftermarket sunroof. The ACS sunroof has an "auto-close" feature, which automatically closes the sunroof when the ignition is turned off. When this feature is activated, the red ACS light is illuminated. This "auto-close" feature can be de-activated, which will turn off the red ACS light. I have an operators manual for this sunroof and would be happy to copy it and mail it to you-just let me know your address.. Mark

 

i see ASC alot and they actually seem to be good. I just am glad mine is factory

 

Its electrical motor failure or body module seeing too many amps being pulled by that system..
