Gas Gussler Tax
#4
RE: Gas Gussler Tax
Trucks are usually exempt from the gas guzzler tax because they "could" be used for commercial purposes (original law intent).
If you look at a Hummer getting 9 mpg and no tax, and a Lambo with the same mileage, but $15k in gas guzzler tax, then you'd wonder also.
I think a recent issue of AutoWeek had a break down of gas guzzler tax according to gas mileage. It was interesting.
Also, since the large GM SUV's in 2006 should be getting cylinder deactivation (to increase gas mileage), you would think Caddy would get some of the goods too!!!
I wonder if the Escalade will get it? I know the 5.3L Vortec for the Chevy's will get the option...but don't know about the Escalade. Anyone know?
