97' STS theft system error

97' STS theft system error

my 97' sts wont start the information panel just says "theft system error car may not restart" then the car just shuts off.I was told to change the ignition cylinder but that didnt change anything. What should I do?

Disconnect neagtive lead at battery for 20 minutes. Reconnect. Make sure gear shift lever is securely in park. Try to start car with spare key.

i have the same problem it just happen one day i hopped in the car please let me know if u find out how to fix it

Go to "Search" type in VATS, too many threads related to it. Then repost if you need to.
