Default foot room/brake-gas pedal

I was convinced I was going to purchase a new STS 3.6 AWD. I test drove one yesterday and found the top my right shoe consistently rubs against a plastic enclosure beneath the dash. Is this just me? This is certainly a reason not to buy the car. I sat in a 2008 STS on the lot with the same result. maybe a size 12 XW shoe and the STS are incompatable. I must say I am relly disappointed. Any ideas or remedies would be most appreciated. Driving barefoot is not an option.
Thank you,
Bob

RHK, why don't you try repositioning your gas foot a little differently. Just use half of your foot and position it only on about 1/3 of the petel near the bottom end. ( You don't need your whole foot on the petal).Just some food for thought.
