Default Found the fix for my Deville!

I know this thread is old but it’s one of the top hits for google so I’m hoping my solution will help people, even though the OP has likely solved the issue or sold their car by now. My climate control and Fuel Data Center would come on after extended driving but not initially and not reliably. After months of dealing with that, it started having trouble starting which wound up being an issue with the neutral safety switch, after replacing the neutral safety switch the climate control and fuel data center are working perfectly, I’m guessing for some reason a signal or ground must route through its wiring that effects the BCM. My panel issues started months before any other signs of issue with the neutral safety switch.

Thanks for this information Daniel Martin; I just ran into this problem yesterday with my dad's 93 Deville; Seems it has happened before and went away on it's own. Can you me know if the issue is still resolved for your car? Thanks.

the issue seemed to be good for about a week there, but it came back, though not as severely. If I drive the car daily for at least 1/2 hour they work well, but if I let the car sit for even a day they act weird on startup still. with that said I think my ignition switch is bad, as the car started having alarm issues as well, the alarm will set itself off at night if i leave the battery plugged in, and i occasionally get a no start issue that lasts about 1/2 while the alarm light flashes.

Please do tell me if you find anything, as for me my next repair will be the ignition switch if I don't just sell the car, but a recent shoulder injury has made repairs difficult, and forced me to buy a modern commuter, so I don't know that I will investigate further.

Hi Daniel, i just changed the Body Control Module (BCM) in my daddy's car. It seems to have solved the problem. It's located behind the glove box with large connectors. The replacement part I got from Oreilly Auto Parts is put out by Cordone. The part # is 73-1754

Thanks, for the reply, I did that well over a year ago on mine, it made no difference for me, but I'm glad to hear it worked for you!
