If I pop the trunk from the glove box, by time I get out and around the car, the trunk is auto closing. PLEASE HELP. Thanks[]

 

i got that problem on ALL my caddies .. but being a minor annoyance, I have become accustomed to use the key on the trunk.

generally, i'm happy as long as the car moves forward, as it should. all else is minor.

It sounds like the springs are worn out and they aren't letting the trunklid pop up high enough away from the pull-down striker after you push the button. This sort of thing happened to me when 4 inches of wet snow weighed my 90 STS lid down. Maybe the previous owner(if any) opened the trunk a lot. All I can think of is looking for a new set of springs.

Same for me as SS427, only happens when it snows heavy. You can adjust the spring you have.
