Default '80 Fleetwood to police Caprice rear end swap?

I was told that I could put a '94-'96 police model Caprice rear end in my '80 Fleetwood. Has anyone here done that swap or even heard of it? Did they have disks? What about using the rear sway bar? Is it a royal pain in the rear or a basic bolt on swap? Are mods necessary? Are the yolks the same?Is this rear strong enough for a mild 500bb? Should I just locate a 12 bolt commercial rear end and call it a day? Thanks.

I would look for earlier 77-79 caddy rear axle. Rear disc was available on Fleetwood . Second choice: 12 bolt from Olds 98 or Buick Electra/ Park Ave during same time frame. I not sure how well late model 8.5 will hold up with big block, and platform changed so it may not be a straight bolt in.
