Default rear end ratio

Howdy, I have gotten great info off the list, good job. Here is my question. I have a 1984 fleetwood, with the 4100 engine and over drive transmission. I recieved the car with 2.73 gears in the rear end. I am looking to replace them with the stock ratio of 3.42. I have located a 1988 brougham in a locate wrecking yard, the vin # is 1G6DW51Y1J9729688. Is there someone that can tell me what ratio is in this car by the vin #? Thanks in advance. Its all good, Jim.

Default RE: rear end ratio

Check G codes on SPID label on trunk lid or numbers/letters stamp into axle tube(s). and post. If you pull cover #s stamped on ring gear will tell ratio also.
