2000 dts shifter position

2000 dts shifter position
So, something on my DTSis screwed up. If I do to put the car in reverse it shows in Neutral on the shifter, but it shows in reverse on the dash and the gear is ingaged. Same goes for driver, hifter shows in 3rd gear bu dash shows drive. Is there anyway to adjust it or is it bent and I have to buy a new part. Thanks.
