if u did the test as stated before and bypass the rim u would know if the rim is the caused

I did the test. the relays opened the fuel door and trunk. I just need to know the location of the ground to body/frame for the RIM module so I can check it. I printed the wiring info you sent.

Thanks. I know loose gorunds and intermittent grounds and power can wreak havac on electronics. I just want to cover all my bases. The RIM module checked good for 12volts at wiring harness. Redoing the battery connections from minor corrosion, Going over everything. I have the RIM module OEM# for the 2002 deville. 21996860 is the number everyone uses to cross reference this part. Alot of shops call it a body control module back rear deck. No local parts stores have it. I had to use car-part.com for this part used. The dealer wants 336 bucks. FYI for anyone with this same problem.

 

Update: Small mom and pop auto parts stores can get the part for half the cost of a dealer. Use the same number only tell them its an AC Delco part number. And this part number will work on 2000 to 2005 devilles. Awaiting part. will update again once it arrives.

 

Purchased RIM module from local used auto parts yard. Bring in the module it helps. $107 with tax. Bring the car and test it in the yard. Lights and door locks should immediatly work when you turn on the key. Walah! done. Make sure to use the code reset feature to clear all codes and start fresh. This has been an adventure and I couldnt have done it without the help from GMTECHS. Thank you. Problem fixed.
