Default 2006 Cadillac DTS head hasket

I have a 2006 Cadillac DTS with 126,000 miles that blew one of its head gasket less than 10 miles from my home in Liverpool, PA.
I called many garages and mechanics and no one will touch repairing the Northstar engine. One local garage would only replace the engine $8000 total bill. That is more than the car is worth.
Another local mechanic would replace both head gaskets and send the heads to local shop to see if the heads needed to be redone. And, this was no guarantee that the engine block was not cracked.

I called a guy that buys junk cars. He said that when he buys cars like mine he immediately crushes the car and would probably get about $200.

I don't have the money to do either repair. I just paid off the car loan.

The car is is good condition inside and out except for a small dent in the front bumper. The engine will still run a short time after filling the radiator overflow with water or antifreeze before it starts to blow white smoke out the exhaust pipes.
I would like to sell the whole car as a parts car.
I think this would be the better way to go. I love the car as it has split front bench seats but just don't think its worth fixing as the head gaskets could blow again. Was told only can be replaced with another Northstar engine.

Anyone have thoughts? I want to get rid of this car before end of year 2022. Car only has been sitting for a few months.

As your car engine head is blown, then i think it would cost you too much if you try to fix it with new one. For my opinion, you can visit any scrap yard in your area. You must find a cheap and easy solution for this there. Also you can contact for some companies who are providing scrap car removal services, you can also talk with them, They will help you to make your car in running condition in cheaper cost and with original parts.

Also this is only my opinion.
Correct me i was wring there.

Does anyone have a contact for the shop?

Great advice in this thread! It's always good to weigh your options when it comes to repairing a car with head gasket issues. For anyone in NYC looking to sell their car quickly, Instant Cash for Cars NYC is a great option. You can get a fast and fair offer for your vehicle, even if it’s facing some issues. Hopefully, your car gets back on the road soon!
