New Battery, New Alternator, No Charge?
Hello, I own an 83 Eldorado 4100 V8 and the battery is losing voltage. I replaced the battery and alternator with new parts and that still did not
fix the problem. I tested the wire that goes from the battery to the back of the alternator and it is receiving 12 volts. Tested the battery voltage with the car running, and it only has 11.8-12.0 volts, drops slowly to 7.0 volts and eventually dies. Just can't figure out how to get the battery to produce 13.5-14.0 vots. The alternator belt has also been replaced and installed with the proper tension. Can someone help me out on this one. Any help is greatly appreciated.

by YOUR description, it sounds like the alternator could be defective .. it should be putting out 13.5v to 14v ... 12v is not enough.

The Alternator is brand new. But I guess there is a chance they could of sold me a bad one. The reman alternator has something different on the back of it. Looks like a little node with a boot over it, and there is 3 volts coming out of it. Is this normal?

No charge
Have you checked for good wire connection on G101 which is on engine behind alternator. Also check starter solenoid terminal b for clean and tight. You may nave to get alternator tested for output. Hope that helps.
