I believe a pot belly stove would still be wood burning?

pellets such as coal pellets ? but then those may be illegal in
some states that can only use hardwood/softwood pellets?

maybe an interesting topic ... but ... for the 15 days a year that
i turn on the GAS furnace, i find it difficult to get excited about pellets.

The DOE's various "Clean Coal Initiatives" keep flirting with schemes designed to gasify pellets made by mixing coal with municipal solid waste (MSW) to make a dry pellet containing lots of energy. They're beautiful: 1. take advantage of our most abundant fuel resource (at present) while also 2) attacking the proliferation of landfills.

A beneficial "twofer."

We have a source of food. The bad part is, it consists totally of buffalo chips. The good part is that there is plenty of it!

Bon Apetit!
