Default Loose Headliner

I have a 2001 Deville with a sunroof and the headline has come loosefrom the backing in the rear. Can the headliner be reglued or does it have to be taken out and new fabric attached to it. Where can I find the headline material. Thanks Jack

im having the same issue but its not too bad. All you nee to do is buy some spay adhesive in a can. The stuff cost $6-$10 depending on brand. you can get the spray adhesive at a hardware store or autoparts store. Take the head liner out and spray the glue in between the cloth and headliner. when pressing the two together try not to stretch it. that way you wont get wrinkles and it wont want to shrink its self into its own position and be back to hangin down again. Its pretty simple if you can sray paint then this will be a breeze. hope that helps.

if you got a foam layer between the cloth and the board backing, and the foam is disintegrating, the glue wont hold.

the cloth can be had at automobile upholstery shops.

BTW, getting a shop to do the headliner right can cost $100 to $200.

Factory or added sunroof? Added sunroofs can cause droopy headliners. Pulling headliner it you have never done it or seen it done can lead to expensive mistakes. If you are going to do it your self vs paying a pro I suggest to go to a "pick & pull" type yard and find a 00-05 Deville and try to get it out without folding, crushing,or tearing it. It's like a free trial run, if your overhead you will know it, if not you will know what is involved and reduce chance of mistakes. As to materials follow Stomper's advice.
