Default Headliner

I recently bought a fixer upper 71 deville and the vinyl headliner is ripped and torn in several places i guess i just dont know how to go about fixing that. I couldnt find a replecement online anywhere and even if i had it how would i install it? I know there were people that would come to your house and fix these vinyl headliners back in there hay day but i dont know if there stil around.

Headliner can be made at home if you know someone with a sewing machine and knows what they're doing. Just use the old headliner as a pattern. Car should have a "bow type" head liner you do need to find a Fisher body manual for 1976 ( they are all the pretty much the same) or earlier if you try to do it yourself. Most upholstery shops should be able to handle it.

FYI -

the local shop charged me $120 to do a headliner on a car with a sun roof, including the visors.
for that kind of cash, I'm not willing to spend weekends learning and trying - plus chasing supplies.
