1988 brougham speedometer cable

Default 1988 brougham speedometer cable

can someone please advise me on how to install a speedometer cable in my 1988 brougham?or refer me to a website with instructions.

1. remove instrument panel insert.
2. remove speedo cluster.
3. disconnect cable housing from locking spring on mounting plate and pull through firewall.
4. disconnect cable at transmission.
5. remove cable assembly.
6. connect new cable to trans. first.
7. route cable up through engine compartment using retaining clips.
8. route cable through grommet in firewall (protect cable end while forcing through firewall)
9. fasten cable to cluster and put dash back together.

thanks for the info.,but what steps are used to disassemble the dashboard?what where do i start.

Put the tilt steering in the down position and start taking out all the screws that hold the dash trim that surrounds the speedo. It will be self explanatory from there.
