Will not start
I have a 1999 STS, which I changed out the engine because it was in a front end collision. I made a mistake by not using the original PCM of the car and used the PCM out of the car where the engine came out. Since then, I reinstalled the original PCM and tried of use the re-learn procedure to get the car to start, but it will not start. The security light goes on for about 4 seconds, then goes out for about 2 seconds, and then stays on and will not go out after 10 mins. I think the VTD is some how locked due to using the wrong PCM. I have communication with the PCM and the BCM, but I have no communication with VTD using a Tech 2. Do I need to reprogram the PCM or could I change out the PCM, VTD, and BCM from the car where the engine came to solve the start problem and if I did that, would I have to change out the key switch and keys too? I also know the engine runs when I jump out he relays, so I know its not a mechanical problem.
