I have a 1996 Deville. Car has new Fuel Pump, fuel press reg, starter, body control mod, car has spark, will NOT START?! Is this a fuel probelm? It will only start when starting fluid is sprayed in, so it has to be a fuel probelm? Took it to one guy, and hes talking about cam position sensor, but it starts with starting fluid, so I doubt its that?! any one with any help, please RESPOND to this theard! anyone have a probelm like this?! Check for 12v at injector connectors(more than 1). Try injector test or noide light and see if it blinks when engine is cranked. Test light can be used if you don't have one. Are codes stored.

 

thats what im thinking too fuel injectors or might be that ur fuel filter is really clogged up

 

Niode tester went well, showing 12 volts at all 8 injectors!!!! replaced cam position sensor, for the hell of it, replaced fuel press reg, pump, filter, has 48 at the rail, uhm, body control module. . . . DOES ANYONE think its the crank position sensor?! could this be a possibilty?

 

If you have spark and injector connector will blink light it is unlikely crank sensors are the cause. Will engine run after using spray to start it or does it die, until sprayed again? What is condition of spark plugs at this point in time? they may have fouled during your effort to start car. Codes?, What does Coolant Temperature Sensor read vs. outside temp. you maybe able to read it on dic if not you will need scanner. What happens if you disconnect MAF?

 

There is spark, engine dies after a few seconds with starting fluid! Havent pulled spark plugs, thats my next thing on the to do list, already picked them up, just have to put them in. NO codes, have a obd2 scanner, but since the battery has died, and new installed it has yet to run so it wont throw a code! coolant temp sensor reads 34 deg, which it is probally 34 outside, so that all checks ok, how to read it on dic? the heat button!? let me know!!!!!! at this point, im lost, local shops are stumped, bunch of morans, cadillac says they will need a "few" days to run tests, but uhm, thats expensive! probally more then the car is worth. PLUS the tow to cadillac! so anything at this point would help.

Only ones that were current, RF2560, and IR2129, the car does say this on dic tho *car may NOT restart* IS THIS A PROBELM WITH REMOTE START? ILL KICK THE GUY IN THE ***** WHO HAD THIS CAR BEFORE ME FOR PUTTING IT ON?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

Make sure battery is fully charged. check grounds at front of transmission near ABS unit, and at end of rear head drives side. any repairs prior to this condition. Clear codes and run car off the fluid. See what codes come back. Theft deterrent code was set, how many mods have been done radio etc ?
