Smile Starter Disabled

I have a 97' SEVILLE STS 4.6 engine. When I tried to start my car the starter would spin the engine, but it would not turn over. at first it seemed as if the battery was going dead. then I got a message on the D.I.C. reading "STARTER DISABLED DUE TO THEFT SYSTEM. REMOVE KEY" I looked under my hood found the positive terminal loose. I then disconnected both positive and negative terminals to clean them of any corrosion. I re-connected both terminals good and tight. tried to start the car only to get the same message. when I used my second ignition key, i got the same message. Any help here would be greatly apprieated.
