Seville STS running hot

RE: Seville STS running hot
hopefully i can be of some assistance.. I'm assuming you have sufficiently tried to bleed the cooling system, giving the reservoir cap 1/2 turn and running at idle for 10 min or so.. if its not that, one possibility is there may be a need to replace the retention spring on the waterpump pully assmbly, this part is usually not included in the assmbly and in some cases may require replacement when a new pully is installed, most often on higher mileage models... this is not from personal experience, but from several other cadillac owners who have had similar experiences, hope it helps... good luck.

Heater Core, Had that problem with my 91 seville. I changed the radiator, all hoses, water pump, and the thermostat, wasn't untill I didn't see the temp drop that I shouldv'e so I disconnected the hose @ the firewall going into the heater core and hooked my garden hose to it. With all that pressure it was just trickling out. Thats one way of checking it before removing it.

RE: Seville STS running hot
bottom rad hoses collapse at high flow, air in the system creates pump cavitation,
Dex-Cool gels blocks passages, hot exhaust leaking into cooling system boils coolant,
stuck thermostats stop flow, backwards thermostats prevent flow, and the best ?
water pump impelelrs installed BACKWARDS dont pump well - yes, the assy people do screw up.
have you tried block & check?
