I have a 2002 DTS with the optional navagation system and 6 disk CD changer. Starting yesterday the radio keeps cutting out. About every 3 seconds it goes silent for just a couple seconds, then comes right back on. The radio stays lit up so I don't think it is losing power, just the sound.This happens on FM1, FM2 and AM presets but the CD player and navagation are not effected.

Any ideas?

 

It is most likely the amplifier. Its located in trunk behind some of the panels.

 

I was thinking it could be the amplifier but, what doesn't make any sence is the CD player works fine as well as the DVD. As soon as I go back to a radio station is starts to cut out again.

I'm assuming all sound goes thru the amp?????
