passenger heat a/c

why does the passenger side blow cold when i have the heat on and does the opposite when a/c is on? The dial on door is set right, and it works for awhile when battery is unhooked. Thank you in advance for any response.

it is a 99 deville that was dumb i didnt put that in my post
