when removing front valve cover on 98 ETC does water pump drive pully need tobe removed before valve cover comes off?

 

After posting my question I dug into it a little after 6pm and was done around 9pm after replacing valve cover gasket kit on the front valve cover. To anyone doing this job get a power steering pump pulley puller to take off the water pump drive pulley then remove the shaft gasket seal behind it to give more room when removing the valve cover itself.
