Default Loss of Electrical power

I have noticed that when I start the car (Eldorado 2000 ETC) that sometimes the trunk or fuel door will open and my clock inside seems to be loosing time. It seems that I also lose electrical power when I first turn the ignition. Does this sound like a battery issue or the altenator? Thanks for your help

yes, that is a typical sign the the battery is near its end.

A loose connection or bad ground would do this to.

Check the pos terminal for acid leaks or corrosion also.

ORIGINAL: mistrbbkp

I noticed recently that when I start the car (Eldorado 2000 ETC) the trunk or the fuel door pops open. I've also noticed a loss in electrical power when I turn the ignition. I am showing 13.9 - 13.0 volts. Any suggestions? Could it be the alternator?

please do not post the same thing over and over in different threads and then with variations of the problem.
