Default Electric trunk release problems

Electric trunk release.
Looking for help with electric trunk release. The release buttons on the remotes and the dash won't open the trunk anymore. It is a 2001 de ville and the valet button is off. The fuel door and door locks work fine. I checked the mico relay and it does click when the release buttons are presses, but there is no sound at all from the trunk solonoid. I suspect the solonoid is shot. How common is this and can it be repaired or do I need to buy a new one??? Thanks in advance.

These act up from time to time. Open the trunk. With a small screw driver throw the latch while clicking your remote, the latch is a plastic part so be careful. Sometimes it needs to travel all the way up in teh latch mechanism to release. Close trunk with pull down and try remote.
