Default electric shift lock release

My 2000 dts is stuck in park. I've used the override lever. Is there a fuse for the electric shift lock release ? Also I do not hear the faint click noise when I step on the brake. that sound was the shift lock release. Please help.

Thank-You

im not sure but, look down where that brake pedel is and work it as you are putting on the brake. is there a something (cylinder like) the pedel is not connecting with that would release the shifter? just a thought to try and help.

Hi, had the same pproblem. We eventually wire tied the shifter under the rubber flap. Said we need to purchase a whole new shifter being they just don't sell the cylanoid that operates that. It's been like that a year and a half now.

First verify that the brake lights work. If they dont, no current will go to the solenoid to release the shifter. If they work, pull up the shifter boot and look to see if a coin or something is jammed in there. All cars have a manual release to move the lever in case of a dead battery. Ck owners manual. Or ck with a local tow service
