Eldorado high idle, choke device?
Hi forum,
I'm new to this, as well as Cadlillacs. In fact, I don't even have one of these. It's my friend Phil. He tells me that his Eldorado idles at some ridiculous 4000rpm. he suspects the choke mechanism is stuffed and wishes to remove it. I'm helping him as I'm a old car nut (I actually keep to olde English Jaguars and Daimlers).
So, is there an easier way to sort out his high idle problem? Phil believes the carbs are working OK.
He wishes to remove the auto choke device, regarding it as superfluous as he only wants to motor it in the Summer. Is this a wise modification? If so, what is the best way to do it?
Thank you, in anticipation.
Regards,
teddykan

Cadillac Eldorado, early 1970's
Hi,
It's early 1970's, convertible. Not sure what engine or carb are on it.
Any ideas on how to go about the modification?
Thanks
