Default Cooling fan trouble with 95 sedan deville

The cooling fans are not coming on causing the car to overheat. When you unplug the ect near the thermostat the fans both come on. They also come on when you turn on the ac. I replaced the sensor nearest the thremostat to no avail. Does that sensor control when the fans come on? The 10 amp cooling fan fuse and the 50 amp cooling fan fuse are good. Can anyone help me with some diagnostic help? The 8th digit is a b. It is the mfi 4.9 liter Thank you!

On most cars the A/C overides the radiator fan controller.
I am thinking radiator fan controller module
this is a typical GM radiator fan controller

Thank you! I am logged on to alldata.com and am unable to locate the radiator fan cooling module. Could you tell me where this might be located on a 95 deville or another name for it? I just spoke to the local dealer and they said this car doesn't have a cooling fan module??? Thanks

It doesn't. Its controlled thru the ECM to ground the fan relay. Have you monitored the engine temperature thru on board diagnostics with the A/C off to verify it exceeds 225 F? The fan is signaled to engage at approx 220 degrees F. with A/C off.

Being that the car is a 95, it is not ob2. What would I use to find out the actual temp? Thanks
