Default 97 Seville Cooling...Fan Motor

Hey Guys...thanks for all the input so far on my 97 Northstar Cooling issues. After extensive diagnostic and maintenance, replacing radiator, water pump, heater core, hoses, and radiator cap...i found that the passenger side fan waskicking on when the relays told it to, but after about 30 seconds would shut down causing the car to overheat. Head gaskets are good.

My Question: can i use a comparable in size and specs, aftermarket fan or fan motor in place of buying a new OEM motor. Why GM used 2 different fan motors in the 2 fan system, is beyond me. One coast is $40.00, the other is $105.00. Of course...I would have the more expensive passenger side motor fail. I will galdly pay the money to finally fix the problem, but was curious if i could simply replace the pass side fan assembly for about $40.00 out of the Jeg's catalogue.
