I guess I'll resurrect this thread. My '93 Allante trunk quit closing again the other da. Changing fuses no help. The light comes on so the ground is OK.

What is weird is that I walked by a day later and it was fully closed.

What could be causing this on and off again situation?

You should have started new tread. Many times switch is the cause, be careful working on it some of the pieces are discontinued. Fortunately salvage yards normally have them to mix and match what you need.
