95 sls trans question

Question 95 sls trans question

hello i have a 95 sls 4.6,i ran the scaner it pulled a code 39,my question is they said the solonoides in the trans are bad,can anyone tell me what i need to replace or wich ones to replace?it has a solid 1st gear a kinda jerkie 2nd 3rd an overdrive,at 45 miles an hr,.after that it is smoth and gets about 30 miles to the gal.the tach is a little jumpi at that speed.the trans was replaced about 1 an a half years ago.an where can i find a diagram of the trans valve body.

Code 39 relates to TCC, however it can have multiple causes. What you are describing sounds like the converter clutch is stuck on. Solenoid is behind side cover, you need to get FSM - Powertrain Volume. Try e-bay,craigslist,..etc... both books if you can. You also can subscribe to alldata.com

so do i need to replace the sol?now this car has been sitting for about a year,not started till i bought it.i had a guy drive it and he told me to run some lube in it,the fluid is red and dont smell burnt,he said it feels like a stuck sol from sitting.

I think you need more diagnosis before taking trans apart. You could try Lucas additive it seems to be very popular here. It's possible it could free what is stuck. How long was car on the road after trans was repaired? It's possible something else is the cause related to the previous repair. You don't want take trans apart until all diagnosis leads to a internal fault, once it's apart you won't be able to run some tests.

Question ??

i pulled the codes on my snap-on scaner,codes 47,39,103,95.cant do an obd on this car.2 codes on motor an 2 on car.

now i have found out that i may have a pin in my plug of my pcm causing the problems,ill share with you all as i find out more..
