I have a 97 Deville and to make a long story short about 2 months ago had a used blower motor put in.Seemed to work fine besides every once in a while it would blow hard for a second or 2 and then go back to normal at times. About a week ago while driving it started to smell like plastic or wire burning and blower went out. Purchase new blower motor put it in turned on but after a few seconds that burning smell again seemed to go about and there was no sigh of smoke anywhere after couple minutes blower stopped check power going to 3 prong plug that goes in blower.I have to now get another but is something burning them out or could it be a case of a used one that went out and just bad luck with a defected new one.? Anyone that can help it is greatly appreciate im at a lost.

 

Does connector or wire appear to have got hot? Melted

 

No seems to be fine nothing melted

 

I would be happy to help with a new motor if you need one. I did some research on this part and found that the part number has been superceded/redesigned 8 times. I am wondering if you are getting old desgin when buying used and having the trouble that the part was redesigned for. Hope this helps.
