okay so here is my quick story.....I purchased a 2002 cadillac STS w 115000 miles from a guy yesterday who has a dealers license and buys and sells cars from auction.....I test drove the car it ran great didnt appear to have any major issues, upon buying the car he told me I will need to smog the car, and stated it wont have any issues passing, so i went to smog the car this morning and first place said the car wont communicate with the computer.............so off to another place, where they stated that when starting the car the check engine light should flash a few times then turn off....my check engine light was not even coming on, upon starting the car, and they cannot smog it.

So I am curious if there is something i can do to troubleshoot this or is something majorly expensive wrong with the car, I paid $3650 for the car, and aslo i do have a diagnostic tool and when connected it just read "0" codes and green light on emmissions.

also I dont know if because the car was a repo, a new key was made for the car??? because the Bose stereo system flickers on and off slowly, when the car is on, can this cause any issues as to the check engine light not engaging, if not, what is the reason for that problem as well?
