98 deville: i'm totally lost and need help.....alternator went bad so i went to NAPA and bought a brand new one and it even had it tested........installed the new alternator and even installed new battery........all connections are tight, etc.......however, go to start car and for the first time ever it flashes "BATTERY NOT CHARGING" on the dashboard.......rechecked all wiring and battery connections and they are fine.......i dont' get it............

does anyone have any suggestions or advise or what to do????

If you rev engine does message go out? What voltage will driver info center display? Check condition of battery cables.

I have a charging problem on my 95 STS also,I got a rebuilt altenator and it was fine for a day and then it only goes to 11 or 11.2 and drops from there,whats wrong with are cars?

I would check the wire going to the alternator and battery connecting wires they could be corroded on the inside of the cableYou may have a bad connection if that's not the problemit may be your PCM

Pcm.....sounds costly,find new wires and try that,sounds cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
