Default '00 Deville rear driver door lock/window acting very weird..please help!

I have a 2000 deville dhs. all the windows and locks work fine except the rear driver side. the lock button doesnt work when i use the driver door button to lock the doors, all lock except the problem door (rear driver side). The same goes with the window. I thought it was the motor and regulator so i replaced both. no fix. There is also a light that comes on that says the rear door is ajar when it is closed, but disappears when the car is turned off and then restarted. It appears any time the door is opened and i double check to make sure it is closed. After replacing the window motor/regulator I realized the window will roll up and down perfect but only when the door is fully extended open, if i close the door any it stops working...I dont know what this could be..possibly a module?? i've also heard possibly the wiring.. any help would be greatly appreciated!

it sounds like your wires might have gotten pinched during use and have a short. it will probably be found at the point where the wires enter the door from the vehicle.
