question on CTS engine oil cooler
I have a 2003 CTS... Love it, however very unusual that it needed new valve covers at 54K miles. That prompted me to buyan extended warranty and bought one that covers almost everything. Now at 63K the "Engine Oil Cooler" went out.
With this being a unique factory part not in all vehicles, it's not specifically listed as a covered part in the warranty. However, all the major engine, engine oil, engine lubrication, and cooling system components and parts are listed as covered. Since this is part of the engine oil system, and the cooling system which are BOTH covered under the warranty how could I word a technical correlation of this part to the ones they do cover. The warranty company agrees this is "gray" area, but still are denying. Other issue is it's location. For engine components they state covering internal engine components, then list parts. Technically this part is external to the block but in the valley of the manifold under covers. Mechanically can that be construed as still an "internal engine part", it's part of the engine, but not internal of the block.
Lots of $$$ riding on my appeal.
Thanks for any assistance or avenues I can explore.
