fleetwood $ Deville swap
There is an auction around my house taking place this weekend, and there is a 89' deville 4DR 4.5L that us going to be auctioned. It has only 50k miles on it so i was going to try to get it cheep. I was thinking since my tranni is going to be history pretty soon that i could take the deville's 4.5tranni and engine and sawp it with my Fleetwood 4.5. Its the same year and sizejust a deville instead of a fleetwood so it should fit no problem right?I imagine its FWD also.

RE: fleetwood $ Deville swap
Should swap with minimal problems. speedo maybe issue 50/50 chance of correct transmission due to final drive. With both cars you should be able correct anything that comes up. However if auction car have 50k mile title and your car has 100k miles+ it maybe worthwhile to use your car to fix the auction car. Objectively look at both cars and decide. Rust and damage to rear 1/4 panels, rockers, floor or roof a major areas of concern; when deciding. A low mileage Deville may have more value than a high mileage Fleetwood.

RE: fleetwood $ Deville swap
Ya ive decided that ill drive the auction car if i win it. I went today to check it out before the auction comes up and the door was unlocked so i popped the hood. Everything looked pretty good except that there was no engine coolent in the resivor or the radiator. They wont let me jack the car up so i crawed underneath as far as i could go, and noticed that green fluid was on the ground and that fluid was coming out next to the transimisiion pan. I felt the side of the tranni pan and i felt more fluid. It was leaking to far back to be the radiator. So im worried the tranni isleaking. Thats the reason im buying this car is because of my tranni. Even if its a hose to the tranni, you think the tranni is still ganna be messed up?
