I have a 93 deville and it is a transaxle frontwheel drive car... I belive that the 95 you want to swap with is a rear wheel drive car... Also the motor in your 92 is turned sideways.... so if you swap it it would have to be with a identical motor not a regular one... and don't waste your time with a northstar

this is what my book shows :
i dont have the '92 specs.

'95 DeVille

-4,893 cc 4.9 liters 8 V front transverse engine with 92 mm bore, 92 mm stroke,
9.5 compression ratio, overhead valve and two valves per cylinder
-Premium unleaded fuel
-Fuel economy EPA highway (l/100km): 9.4
-Multi-point injection fuel system
-76 liter fuel tank
-Power: SAE and 150 kW , 200 HP @ 4,100 rpm; 275 ft lb , 373 Nm @ 3,000 rpm
to my knoweldge, the engines are the same. if any changes, i expect them in the cam.
but for a DeVille, i bet not.

should you run into a problem, you can take the new engine and move all your existing
electronics to it. something you are probably doing anyways.

if you can, also take the ECM, just in case ...

the 4.9 is a bored out 4100, aluminum OHV family engine.
aluminum block, cast-iron cylinder liners, cast-iron cylinder heads

4100, 125 hp / 190ft-lb torque or 170 hp / 234ft-lb torque
4500; 155 hp or 200 hp / 270 ft-lbs torque
4900, 175 hp / 300 ft-lbs torque

then came the

4600 N*,

I just purchased a 95 deville with a 4.9 130000 miles on it. it seems like a pretty good engine. I was wondering what the upside or downside to putting in a 4.6 n* are. and even if its possible. it is a side mount front wheel drive so i know that i will need a n* sidemount.

I don't believe 4.9 swap should be a problem. You will have to transfer the 92 motor mount and possiblily exhaust. Northstar swap is not practicable. To do it right you would need a complete car, and transfer everything. You would be better off get a different car
