2000 STS, charging system
A couple months ago the “SERVICE CHARGING SYS” message came on and then a few minutes later the “BATTERY SAVER ACTIVE” message came on.
The battery checks good. In fact if I it charge it. even a week later it starts right up but with in 5 min, the messages start again.
Looking through other post, this seems to be a fairly common problem. I don’t want to change the alternator if it’s not bad is there a fuse to check or something else to look for first.
Can the alternator be check off the car?, Like take it into NAPA.
I wouldn’t think this would make a difference but for several months the following warnings have also been on. SERVICE SUSPENSION SYS, Traction Control System, Anti-Lock BrakeSystem
