Default After New Ignition Coils Installed, Car Won't Run

2005 SRX-Installed all new ignition coils and spark plugs. Started the car and it sounded like it was going to lunge, then stalled. Tried starting it several more times and it would quit as soon as it started. After letting it set for ten minutes, I would start it again and the same thing happened each time I did this. The first crank it seemed to act like it was lunging, then die. Then, it would just start and die.

I did use a stick to hold the Intake manifold up while changing the coils and spark plugs. I checked all the visible connections and they all seemed to be OK. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

If you think the timing (plug wires on each end) are correct it could be the grounding of the coils. Are they new? Do you hear a snapping sound? If you can't find the problem re-install the old coils one at a time until the problem ceases. New coils can have a crack also. I think an auto parts store can check coils. Next time take several pics before you take things apart. Be cautious when cleaning the connections, no steel wool.

Default Bad Ignition Coils

I got rid of the new coils I bought online. I then put the 4 good ones back in that I took out, went to the local auto parts store and bought two more, and installed them. It still wouldn't start and run and I got the P0300 code along with 302 to 306. It seemed obvious that this was an exhaust leak. I told a friend about putting the Intake back in and that one of the bolts had to be slightly forced in. He said to check the gaskets. I did. One had a bad spot where I forced the bolt in. I replaced the gaskets and it runs good now, except when it gets good and warm, it has a tendency to start chugging when I stop at a light or something. I get the P0300 code. Catalytic converter maybe?

Back to the beginning, I realize the initial coils I bought was a bad deal. I got all six for what one cost at the parts store.

Thank you.

I would make sure a gaskets didn't fall out it sounds like a giant vacuum leak by the symptoms. Did you reconnect the pcv hose and all the connectors?
