My '99 Escalade (108,000 miles) recently began having 2 problems that seem related because they both started at about the same time: 1) the interior lights will not turn off, and 2) the alarm goes off constantly. The rotating dimmer switch is not set to turn the interior lights on - it is set roughly halfway.

I have had to engage the dome light override to turn the interior lights off, and have to lock the car manually to keep the alarm from going off all the time.

Is anyone else having this problem? Help!

My battery went dead today. Now I am having almost the same problem as you are. Had to override the dome lights because they will not turn off but now the security system will not work.

 

Hey Guys,

I figured it out on my caddy. The vanity mirror light was staying on causing the system to go off. I pinned the switch that keeps the light off and now all is well.
