Question 02 Valve cover gasket replacement

I just completed a search for valve cover replacement and came up empty. Does anyone have a tutorial on this?

Lacking specific instructions, is there anything that I need to pay special attention to?

What is the pulley on the drivers side on the front valve cover and does that need to be removed? any thing else?

The pulley apparently drives the water pump. The rear valve cover was rather uncomplicated except for getting to everything. However, undoing the hood struts and raising the hood higher does help. I still need information on this pulley.

The pulley gets removed with a power steering pump puller, remove the cover plate and coax the valve cover past the shaft after raising the other end.
