Default Two Strange Issues

Hey there. I just bought my first Cadillac, a 1999 Deville (base). It has 122,000 miles on it and generally runs very smooth. It has an aftermarket alarm system on it and a previous owner cut the wires to the siren. Whenever I open or close any door or trunk, the headlights flash for 30 seconds and the security light on the dash blinks for 30 seconds...the horn does not blare. I'm confident it's not the aftermarket alarm because I disconnected it and the problem still exists. Any ideas what could be going on and how I can disable it?

Another issue is if I leave the car off for more than 24 hours, everything resets...the trip odometer, MPG average, gallons used, timer. The aftermarket radio never retains stations after I turn the car off, but I think that's an issue with the radio. However, what would cause all of the dash information to reset so often? Does it have anything to do with the security system?

Thanks in advance for any tips you can give me.

u sound like a computer module is out of whack. when u disconnected the alarm system did u make sure all the wires are hooked up correctly.

and if thats ok u will mostly likely need a ignition switch
